A look at how the Mexican artist celebrated individuality through her make-up. We break down the rebellious artist’s signature statements.
Chic Cheek
Olive-skinned Frida was unafraid of using colours in her art, attire and make-up. She loved highlighting her cheekbones and often wore a bold red lip stain to match.
The Brow Code

Gender Bender
After her divorce from fellow artist Diego Rivera, she cut her hair short and owned the look effortlessly by wearing men’s suits. Did someone say androgynous fashion?
Hair Supply
